AberDays 2015 Event Information

We will be commemorating the 150th anniversary of Ft. Abercrombie's return to the Regular Army from Civil War Volunteer troops. This event is a part of the Aber-Days celebration.

Reenactorswill pitch camp inside of Ft. Abercrombie on Friday.

Saturday morning we will be shuttled to Crooked Lane Farm in Colfax ND, former location of the 1862 ford across the Wild Rice River. Then we will begin the 5 mile march, pausing once we reach the town of Abercrombie. Once we reach the town, Civil War reenactors will lead the festival's parade through the town of Abercrombie and into the historic fort. Animals are welcome to participate in the road march and parade, but they are not permitted on the State Historic Site.

Once at the fort, reenactors will get some well deserved R&R before assuming Aber-Days activities.

The town usually hosts a street dance on Saturday night, participants are encouraged to attend. An entry fee is required.

Sunday morning we will continue military and civilian programming until the State Historic Site closes for the day.

Military activities include Mail call, Pay call, guard duty, drill, rendering honor to the colors, and more. Military orders and leadership will be provided by the 5th Minnesota Volunteer Infantry, Company D.

Civilian activities are open to suggestion.
